Sunflower Season Is Coming!

As summer winds down, the change of seasons brings with it one of our most favorite things to photograph. Sunflowers! The wild sunflower fields around the Homewood-Flossmoor area will be in bloom for a few weeks, in late August through early September, and are the perfect photo opportunity for families, kids, and babies! Here’s what you need to know to make the most out of the upcoming sunflower season!

First and foremost, sunflower season comes and goes in an instant, and the sessions fill just as quickly! Booking your photo shoot as soon as possible give your family a better chance at fitting into Mother Nature’s and our schedule.

The sunflower fields offer a unique, serene setting in the south suburbs of Chicago. They can bring your family portrait to life with a splash of color, or help create an adorable backdrop for your child to frolic in. Some of our best candid photos came from these fields where adults and children alike feel more comfortable than under studio lighting.

As with all outdoor shoots though, mother nature doesn’t always agree with our schedule, and that can make an already limited photo window even tighter. But you know what they say, no rain...no flowers! If your shoot is delayed due to inclimate weather, or the fields aren’t fully in bloom, we’d be happy to reschedule your session later in the sea
